The retired billionaire Bill Gates(an ordinary person now) will rent a traditional Chinese courtyard(四合院,Si Heyuan) which is 1000 square metres, for one year. Beside the apartment, there will also be a luxury hotel(the tallest buliding in the picture), planned to be a seven-star hotel. It is scheduled to open a few days later.
Biil Gates spend almost RMB 100 million(USD 14.7 million) for it. The apartment ,pictured below ,will have spectacular view of the Birds nest and the water cube, two main Olympic stadiums.

A siheyuan (Chinese: 四合院; pinyin: sìhéyuàn) is a historical type of residence that was commonly found throughout China, most famously in Beijing. The name literally means a courtyard surrounded by four buildings. In English, siheyuan are sometimes referred to as Chinese quadrangles. Throughout Chinese history, the siheyuan composition was the basic pattern used for residences, palaces, temples, monasteries, family, businesses and government offices. In ancient times, a spacious siheyuan would be occupied by a single family, signifying wealth and prosperity. Today, however, most remaining siheyuan are used as mass housing complexes, and suffer from a lack of modern amenities.
