The film wanna tell you everybody has an ulterior object in heart(每个人都心怀鬼胎), In other words, everybody are known to suffer from schizophrenia? The film is X-rated in HongKong because of bloody and violent images.

Anyone who has seen Too Many Ways To Be No. 1 will no doubt be familiarized with the overall direction and style of Mad Detective (I can now see where Wai Ka-Fai did most of the directing for the movie). Where the theme of fate was focused in that movie, Wai Ka Fai decided to spin the same exact theme and lay the emphasis on character in characters, leading to their actions and consequences told in many angles, with Lau’s psychic thing as the main storyteller meaning it tells from the normal perspective and the special one where things are left in and out depending on how it’s told (f***ing amazing accomplishment!) On top of that, Sean Lau as the special inspector with a gift is perhaps at his finest here which is way too DIFFERENT from what he’s done for Milkyway or in general in the past, applying lots of acting skills where he executes his psychological doings in order to picture certain scenarios and characters to reach his goals and the way he’s doing it… it’s just brilliant and pure excellence!
