Question: Most of my girl friends wear makeup and im basically the only one that doesnt. my guy friends doesnt really like it when they do wear makeup and they tell them that theyre ugly (they’re just kidding, they just dont want to girls to cake on makeup) and that they should be like me and be all natural. i want to start wearing makeup, but i dont know how without dissappointing my guy friends.
how did you girls start? did u one day decided to go to school with makeup or did you wait till it was a new school year?

1.Errrs, there was a time in which i wanted to wear makeup. Everyday I wokeup, and just did simple things, liek I put on light shades of eyeshadow, and another layer (cuz i do two shades of color) maybe some eyeliner and if i feel liek it lip gloss. but that was the past, b/c liek r guy friends, i think the natural look is better. But if you don’t want to dissapoint ur friends, i think you should jsut use light makeup, makeup that makes it look like ur not wearing it at all. i know that doesnt make sense, but it exists..lol. use light colors..or which ever matches ur skin color
2.hm, the first time I ever put on makeup was on my 14th birthday for my party. In the summer, I bought eyeliner and I started wearing it once or twice a week during the school year, and about a year later, I still stick to that routine. I wear a bit when if I’m going somewhere where the guy I like is going to be, and if i’m going out for dinner with family/friends. No one to impress at school, haha.
Guys (from what I know) don’t like girls that are cake faced. A little bit of the basic stuff is okay, like eyeliner or mascara.. Think of it this way, makeup is made to enhance your features and make flaws less visible, it’s not to make you look like a completely different person (which is what guys don’t like, I THINK.) I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t even care about what my guy friends would think, hah. They could say whatever for all they want, it’s not like I’m wearing it to impress them or anything. I’d just tell them to screw off if they said something about it. , just my two cents!
There are tons of tutorials on youtube on how to apply light makeup that looks natural. If you want to stay light, I’d just stick with the basic eyeliner and some mascara, and lip gloss.
if you don’t want to get ” addicted “, (a lot of girls do after they start wearing it) keep these in mind ,
- makeup is used to enhance features and make flaws less visible
- the money that you spend on money will add up and some things are expensive, as you will want to buy more and more
- you definitely DON’T want to be one of those girls that are VERY dependent on makeup
-> if you wear make up a lot and one day people see you without it, they will be like WTF. and so will you when you see yourself in the mirror.
- and lastly, many guys don’t like cake faced girls. not necessarily your guy friends, but maybe a cute looking guy at the mall, or the guy you like.. yenno?
add-on
I think you feel the peer pressure from your girl friends. I think you should just be who you are.
Personally I’ve had the feeling that I need to fit in with friends so I’d need to use makeup, yet I still never did. I don’t know how to use it, so therefore I’d rather not touch it.
If you’re going for the guy thing, my advice is to not put any on. If they are to like you, they’re to like you for who you are. Not for what you look like with make up on. Besides, if you ever end up with a guy in bed, they’re gonna see what you look like without makeup anyways, eventually.
3.Before you use anything, you need to find the perfect foundation for you skin. Actually, even before finding the perfect foundation, u should have a very nice skincare.
5 steps everyday:
cleanse
exfoliate
tone/freshen
moisturize
protect (foundation)
If you have dry skin or skin that’s too oily, your make up will either look cakey or run off your face w/ the oil. So make sure you have a nice clean face. And before you apply any other powder, you’d want to put a little loose powder to set your foundation so that your makeup downs run off. The rule of thumb to applying make up: apply all the wets, and then all the powders. Never mix, other wise it starts clunking up.
