A wedding ceremony organized recently at the Huadong Hotel in Nanjing, east China’s Jiangsu province, left all of the attendees impressed with the scientific nature of the couple’s commitment.

The bride, Xiao Dan, and her groom, Liu Wen, are studying for doctoral degrees in a DNA-related field at a British University.

Each couple presented a 1 ml test tube containing liquid in which their DNA had been blended together to signify they would never be separated.

Liu said they collected oral mucosa and hair, broke down the cells and then dissolved them in water.
