At a time when it is rare to find three generations of a family get together for one meal, even on occasions such as the spring festival, all 24 members of a family in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, have been eating together every day for the past 28 years.
Zhao Dinghong is the one up the earliest to start preparations for lunch. At noon, all the members of his family and those of his brother gather at three tables for the meal. The younger women then do the clean-up as the men settle down to make small talk.
Zhao said he had never once resented the work involved and added that the family looked forward to the meals.
