A 72-year-old grandma in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is so preoccupied with computer games that she starts playing them at 9 am every day.
Liu Zhi’s gaming addiction started 20 years ago when she visited a colleague and found her son working the game console. Finding the activity novel, Liu purchased a player immediately and has been a fan ever since.
When Liu retired as a college professor 12 years ago, she could not get used to life as a pensioner.
Her son bought her a computer so she could kill time playing games on it.
But the granny has recently complained of pain in her back and wrist from sitting too long in front of the monitor.
Concerned, family members have had to pry her away from the console and persuade her to get outdoors - to appreciate more healthy activities like Peking Opera.
