A hog weighing more than 1,040 kg was crowned the “king of pigs” in Ningxiang County, Hunan Province, over the weekend.
It is believed to be the heaviest pig so far in the country. Xiao Shaohong, the owner of the beast, said she once turned down an offer to part with her precious porker at a record of more than 50,000 yuan ($6,730). Xiao, a villager from Ningxiang’s Zhuliangqiao Township, has been feeding the pig for more than five years.
