A high-speed Shanghai taxi driver was able to save a woman’s eyesight lastWednesday.
The driver, surnamed Chen, was waiting at a red light when a coupleapproached his taxi. The man explained that he had mistakenly put glue into hisgirlfriend’s eye thinking he was giving her eyedrops. Chen persuaded thepassenger already in the cab to get out, then rushed the couple to a hospitalemergency room without charge.
Doctors said the woman might have gone blind if she had arrived at thehospital even a few minutes later.
