A 75-year-old woman surnamed Xiang is suing her 94-year-old husband fordivorce on the grounds that he treats her like a maid.
The Wuhan couple have become the oldest persons to file for divorce in HubeiProvince.
Xiang married Xu in 1997 after working for him as a housekeeper. She filedfor divorce earlier this month but on Monday the district judges rejected herrequest, saying the couple should be deeply attached to each other after livingtogether for so long.
Xiang is appealing the decision.
