Shang Ailing, 50, a residentof Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi Province, is feeding a pregnant stray dog milk,though she has little money for herself.
Shang sells newspapers outside a park for a monthly income of 600 yuan ($77)only.
Three years ago, she adopted a stray dog.
“One evening in May 2004, I found the dog, which I named Huahua, lying on thesidewalk when I went home. I took the stray dog home and started feeding it. NowHuahua is pregnant, so I want to add some nutrition to her food,” Shang said.
