A postgraduate student in Canada was so angered at a post on the Internetwhich appeared to show her running naked for a foreign charity that she droppedher studies to return to Beijing to protect her privacy.
After the picture was seen on Chinese websites starting in early April, thewoman, surnamed Zhang, was criticized in Internet postings. Other media claimedthey had found who she was and where she came from.
Last Friday, Zhang sent letters from her lawyer to some Beijing-basedwebsites which had posted the pornographic photo which, in fact, was not her.Her lawyer reasoned that someone who dislikes Zhang may have created the photos.
The letter requested that they remove the posted photo and apologize.
