(China Daily)

“My five parrots helped protect my things from being stolen,” said a resident, surnamed Jia, in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The man said he was awoken at around 3 am by the sound of his five parrots, violently flapping their wings. The house was dark because the power had been cut due to some work being done on nearby power lines. Jia went to check on his parrots and saw a stranger in the sitting room. But before Jia could catch him, the stranger jumped out of the window, leaving behind a pair of trousers Jia thought he was trying to steal.
