A middle-aged woman in Chongqing Municipality is seeking advice from the public on how to ward off the thieves who frequently break into her home.

Deng, 44, has lived alone since her divorce in 1993. A pensioner, Deng often leaves her home around 10 am to visit her mother and return after 5 pm.

Since April this year, thieves regularly stop by her home to steal toilet paper, tea, quilt covers, candy and detergent. They never steal more valuable items such as the computer and television set. To deter them, Deng has changed her locks five times. But they keep coming back - without damaging the locks, windows or doors. Deng wonders if the thieves know how to unlock the door when they come and then lock it again when they leave.
