A man surnamed Zhang who robbed his girlfriend surnamed Peng was arrested in Shenzhen special economic zone recently.
Zhang began dating Peng last September. He tried to cheat her out of some money when he learned she had a healthy bank account, but failed.
He then decided to rob her with the help of two other men surnamed Li and Wang.
Peng was lured to a hotel room on November 21 last year under false pretences and was robbed of 11,900 yuan.
Li and Wang have also been arrested.
