A company in Xiamen, Fujian Province, recently set a rule that employees should not answer back when they are scolded by bosses, otherwise they would be fined or fired.

On September 3, Ni, a woman employee of the company, was criticized by a manager for a minor mistake she had made. Angry at the criticism, Ni had a dispute with the manager. On the second day Ni was told she would be fined 30 yuan for offending the manager. Feeling treated unfairly, Ni argued with top leaders of the company and as a result Ni was fired and security guards removed her from the premises.

Now Ni is seeking arbitration from State labor authorities.
