The new idol drama “Fated To Love You” spent big bucks on going to Hong Kong to start filming and arranged for Ethan Ruan, Chen Qiao En, Ruo Bei An(羅北安), Chen Wei Ming(陳為民), Na Wei Xun(那維勳), Yan Jia Le(顏嘉樂), Li Pei Xu(李沛旭) etc to go on “Star Cruises” to film scenes.
It was calculated that within that 4 day 3 night, just filming the few scenes for first episode cost the production group 5million and more.
Ethan Ruan said “The group was really large. There were 32 workers involved in going overseas to film!” And Chen Qiao En was even happier “The television company was really generous this time and spent a lot of money. I’m really touched!”
Idol drama “Fated To Love You” with leads Ethan Ruan and Chen Qiao En went to Hong Kong to film. This is the first time the television company went out of Taiwan to start filming. “Fated To Love You”’s drama title is very interesting. In Fated, the word “Zhong4(中)” has the same pronounciation as “Zhong4(重)” and Qiao En laughingly said that “When I saw the script, I felt really shy because in the drama, I will have a one-night stand with Ethan Ruan and I will end up accidentally pregnant. Hence the drama name is called 命中. It means that we got it in one shot!”
(The word 中 in chinese can mean got. 命中 thus can mean life gotten)
The filming done across country received the sponsor of “Star Cruises” and when the cast arrived at Tsim Sha Tsui Harbour City(in Hong Kong) and were about to board the cruise, “Star Cruises” vice-president came down personally to welcome them. For the filming, the cruise even held a special welcome party and dining and room expenses were free during the filming period! After Chen Qiao En board the cruise, she couldn’t help but exclaim “I want to film at the bow with Xiao Tian(Ethan)! And it must be as romantic as “Titanic”!”
Filming in a cruise was a first time for everyone. Chen Qiao En said that “I have never been on a cruise. This time, thanks to “Fated To Love You”, I got my first experience and it feels quite good!” Ethan Ruan filmed a short promotion film in Singapore before but regarding the across country filming done this time, he was still shocked. Ethan commented excitedly that “In Taiwan, I think no idol drama has involved so many workers! And besides Hong Kong, I heard that we might go to other countries to film selected scenes too!”
