Yesterday (4 June), reporters have travelled to the filming site of [Three Kingdoms], with the intention of “catching” main actor Andy Lau as Zhao Zilong but met with”hundred possible obstacles”.

In the end, they managed to hold interviews with Director Li, as well as Sammo Hung & Vanness Wu. According to one of the daily cleaners working at the site, Andy Lau always has 4 bodyguards by his side - most probably on standby to prevent any “crazy fans” from getting near.

Yesterday when the reporters reached the film site, they were denied entry by the guards at the entrance. Reason given was “Andy is very busy filming, no time to entertain reporters.” However, one of the guards divulged that the reason for the high security was not to prevent the reporters but rather any crazy fans who may want to rush in.
He also explained that Andy has 4 bodyguards with him everyday therefore no one dares to go near him.

Regarding the earlier news that they had “closed 10 mountains” 封了十座山一事 just for Andy, the crew explained that it was true. However, that was to ensure that filming would go smoothly and not for other reasons.

During the meeting, Director Li expressed his views on the controversy regarding Zhao Zilong’s image setup in the movie. Many have said that Andy’s dressing was similar
to that of a Japanese warrior. Director Li explains “Whether it’s in China or overseas, there are many deduced versions of [Three Kingdoms], however what is been left for us in history is not a lot. We are not filming a documentary, therefore adding some touches of imaginative elements is possible.”

Director Li’s response has shown us that in spite of all the discussion & controversy of [Three Kingdoms], he still likes it very much. He adds “It is just like the saying that no matter how many ships, you cannot resist the sea. Currently, there are 2 movies [Three Kingdoms] & [Red Cliff], but I tell you, the stories are so exciting, even filming 100 movies of this storyline is not enough.” [by Charlene Lau Cho Yee]
