THEY say good men are hard to find these days – they are either married or gay. So who can blame Carina Lau Kar Ling for raving about longtime boyfriend Tony Leung Chiu Wai whom she describes as an angel? [Nov, 2005]

A well-known couple in the East Asian entertainment circle, Lau and Leung have been going out for 16 years. In a recent interview with Hong Kong’s Ming Pao, Lau, 40, spoke extensively about her relationship with the award-winning veteran actor.

“He’s an angel who’s pure in many ways, including his thoughts, and is a man of integrity. Someone like that is hard to find,” Lau unabashedly told the magazine.

31be37g2.jpgCalling Leung her biggest supporter and defender, Lau went on to say that he had stood by her through thick and thin. He even expressed his willingness to leave the industry together with her if she was really unhappy. She was moved by his sincerity, she said.

Her 43-year-old beau, said Lau, was one of two men who changed her life. The other being her former TVB training school teacher, Liu Fang Gang, who passed away last year. She credited him with helping her achieve success in the entertainment industry.

However, the glamorous star did not hide the fact that both she and Leung did quarrel occasionally and have cold wars but “he is not one to raise his voice”. And Mr Nice Guy is always the first to offer the olive branch.

“He always takes the first step, so I will follow with several steps,” she added.

During the interview, the Suzhou-born Chinese beauty also candidly admitted her frosty ties with Leung’s mother.

“Perhaps I’m not what she considers to be wife material. I’m independent but not submissive or meek.”

But for Leung’s sake, Lau and his mother did try to be friendly with each other, said the actress.[by starizblue @ AF.net]
