Taipei: It has been mentioned that the music industry does not look promising. However, news about the results of entries for the 19th Golden Melody Awards mentioned the total number of articles for each item increased and the genre of pop music rose by 2038. It was announced that this year’s pop music genre has altogether 341 albums and 9012 number of works which exceeded the previous year by 2038. Pop music genre’s “Best Composer Award”, “Best Lyricist Award” and “Best Song Arranger Award” has 25% more entries than last year.
The nomination list will be disclosed on the tenth day of May. The traditional and artistic music and pop music genres will have their award ceremonies held separately. The former will take place on June 21st at Taipei County Multi-Purpose Hall while the later will be at Xiao Ju Dan on July 5th.[by Edwise]
