Yesterday, Hins Cheung stepped up for rumored girlfriend Ivana Wong and voiced his displeasure about an incident that happened right before the opening of the 2006 TVB Jade Solid Gold Music Awards. He says, “On Saturday, a certain artist’s assistant poured water over Ivana Wong and the whole right side of her body was wet. The assistant only voiced being careless and immediately walked away. This is a matter of being disrespectful. It happened right before the opening ceremony, so I could not even hand her a tissue, and Ivana was on stage for 10 minutes drenched in water.” He was then asked if he was feeling hurt seeing her wet, he responds, “I am hurt to see someone with no manners.” He was also asked if he hugged her so she would be warm, he responds, “Her ability to stay warm (body fat) is greater then mine. The only thing I could do was comfort her by saying ‘water is money’.”
Hins was asked regarding Kelly Chen’s displeasment of JSG awards. He responds, “Kelly won Asia’s Favorite Female Singer so she has the ability to influence. Times have changed, in order for an artist to win awards it is the policy of he/she must work more for the awarder in order to get awards. If I were not popular, even if I win a Male Singer award, I would be booed.”

I guess it is more apparent than ever that “the more you work for the awarder, the more awards you will get,” especially since Kelly was asked regarding this and even Hins admits that this policy exists.
Hins is voicing his opinion that awards should be based on skill and not popularity, good for him.
As for Ivana, I wonder who’s assistant poured water over her. Just disrespectful for not apologizing. To walk away, the assistant admitted to doing it on purpose. [by 60699]
