Ken Chu Xiao Tian (朱孝天) of F4 scheduled to hold his solo concert in February. His recipe cook book is currently on sale. In addition to the book promotion events, we also brought along with his cookery and a recent interview.
I pursue for what I adore. That is my prime motivation.
The cookbook Ken Chu, Mei Wei Guan Xi My family dishes and My life written by Chu Xiao Tian of F4 opened sale in November 2006. Reading through Ken’s book and learned from his consciousness on food and life-style, one gets to know his unique Life philosophy.
At the beginning, cooking was a pastime to kill time. Eventually I found something more important from this process. Deep down, I clearly realized what are the things I truly adore and interested.”
It becomes the prime motivation when pursuing interested things and sincerely devoted with full attention. This is not only limited to cooking but applicable to one’s life as a whole. He’d lineup patiently for Japanese bread. He also shares little stories about good food from his journey.
Have you come across with any delicious food lately
When I was filming in the Uyghur region of Xinjiang, I tried some lamb kabob. That is very delicious. It appears so simple at a first glance. In fact, it also requires delicate techniques. For example, when string meat on a skewer, one piece of fat has to be put in between. This way, it brings out the sweetness and improves its texture. Besides, the use of herbs and spices as well as charcoal are to be specific. It is not simply eating. It is the experience with the process that you witness deeply touches you. All these lie on his exquisite observation.
Despites, Ken himself does not feel that way. That is not the case. It only works on things I’m interested. (chuckled) He is so cool! Being conscious on things around helped him to create ample innovative dishes. At the same time, make him to be the everlasting Meteor Garden Flower boy, a member of F4.
Even now, I still hardly believe that our immature works and performance have become so popular in this quality demanding Japanese market.
Four of us are taking on our solo exploration. Ken himself just challenged on his first attempt in an ancient martial drama. He experienced filming on a stunt wire hang 30-storeys above ground. Before I took the part, technicians demonstrated the act which just come to a stop instantly before touches the ground. When I saw it, I immediately expressed, That’s impossible! That is why I request for a stand-in. (chuckle) Others kept persuade me to take a trial, but I really can’t do it. Perhaps if that was in Hollywood, I might give it a try. (chuckle again)
I like Japanese cuisine very much. I am very good at making Onigiri which I learned from a Grill restaurant I used to work for. (smiled)
