A press conference for Eric Kot’s new movie King of Fans was held at Beijing yesterday, of which attendees included Leo, Ah Sa, Kevin Cheng, Sammy, Vincent Wong etc. Wong Jing turned up as the Mainland producer of the movie.
At the event, Leo wished everyone to get enough sleep. When asked in return whether he has enough sleep, he stated that everyone might not have enough in fact. He further revealed a scene in the movie which required him to purchase condom from a convenience store. As he does not have experience in this, he did not know how to act the scene and felt awkward. The reporter digged further to ask why he did not have the need to buy condom, Leo stuttered, then replied,” Why not you ask Wong Jing how to answer this question” As Leo was trained in TVB Artists Training Course before, he rarely encounters NG. When acting in Mainland China few years back, he even earned the nickname ‘One Kei’ (一條基), which meant One Take OK.
Concerning his earlier movie with Cecilia ‘My Kungfu Sweetheart’ 《野蠻秘笈》being nominated for a few notorious awards in 「金話梅」 poll, such as Worst Movie and Worst Male & Female Roles, Leo admitted that he knew about this, but does not know the criteria of the nominations. However, the movie was a box-office hit in Mainland China.
When Wong Jing was told of Leo’s inexperience in buying condoms, he expressed that being such a big guy, Leo must have bought before, but due to the fact that he relies on his face for a living, he would have asked others to buy for him instead. Wong Jing said,” When there was still no convenience store many years ago, I had to go to the dispensary to get condoms. It was very awkward.” Leo, who stood near Wong Jing at that time, said immediately,” See, I knew the director trusts me!” Once he was told that Wong Jing believes he has bought condoms before, Leo walked away embarrassedly. Wong Jing continued,” There is no reason why you have to buy yourself. Not everyone is as frank as Vincent Kwok who admits buying X-rated magazines. I only buy when I’m in Japan, as no one knows me there. Buying condoms shows that I am a responsible man, Yuen Wah shoots condom commercial too! This is a very normal thing, and also a part of life.
