Sammi Cheng, who have just returned from a long break, boarded the plane to Vancouver yesterday afternoon. She is getting ready for her performance at CCTV’s “Same Song Concert” tomorrow night. Miriam Yeung, who was rumoured to be fighting with her for the ‘big sister’ spot at East Asia, is also one of the performers for the show. This is the first time that they will bump into each other since being in the same company. People say that Sammi bought some really nice clothing to prepare for this ‘battle’. Although they were both set to board the plane yesterday, they purposely boarded at different times, on different planes, and at different gates in order to avoid each other.
Yesterday afternoon, Sammi was set to board Air Canada at 2:05 to Vancouver. On the other hand, Miriam was set to board Cathay Pacific at 3:05. But, according to workers at the airport, Sammi went through the departure gate early. She wore black clothing and sunglasses and was accompanied by two workers.
Miriam arrived at 1:45. When asked about how she feels about bumping into Sammi for the first time after signing to the same company, she said, “It’s not ‘bumping’. I’m honored to be doing this show. The whole of China will be able to watch it. Furthermore, I’ve taken this job from early on already.” There were rumours that Sammi herself asked to do this show after knowing that she had agreed to do it. Miriam said in reply that she doesn’t believe that Sammi would do such a thing and that money comes first in artists’ eyes and wouldn’t care much about other artists. Furthermore, as an adult she wouldn’t be so immature.
When talking about Sammi buying nice clothes for this battle with her, Miriam said that this is all just entertainment gossip. Who wouldn’t like to dress themselves up But she said that she wouldn’t suddenly wear really sexy clothes to avoid people worrying about her being cold. Yesterday, the two of them purposely boarded different planes. Miriam said that, “Boarding with different airlines doesn’t mean we don’t get along. It’s just a matter of personal likings.” [by van86]
