Norika Fujiwara and her husband Japanese comedian Tomonori Jinnai, 33, held a reception for some 600 guests at a posh hotel in Kobe last Wednesday, and the TV broadcast attracted a staggering rating of more than 40 in the Kansai region. But the Japanese media have labeled them a mismatch ever since they got hitched in a traditional ceremony in February.

Not only is Norika three years older than Tomonori, she is also taller - she stands at 1.71m and he, 1.68m. The former Miss Japan is definitely more famous than her comedian hubby, and wealthier too. Apparently, she paid for most of the 500 million yen ($6.25m) wedding expenses.

Her name always precedes his on cards, and speculation is rife if he will be the hen-pecked husband while she controls the household.

For one thing, Norika, 36, initiated a breakup 10 days before their traditional wedding, she said in her book Happy Spirit, which chronicles their love story. It was launched last week.

Norika wrote that they had a huge fight over him revealing too many intimate details of their relationship on TV. Hurt by his antics, she sent him an SMS to break up with him.

Then, she disappeared for three days and even changed her phone number to avoid him.

It was only after he apologized and assured her that he loved her for her character and not her fame that they finally made up.

But it seemed like Tomonori has not changed his blabbing ways.

When asked how he hopes his wife will change after the wedding, he said: ‘I hope we can bathe together frequently because now we would still feel embarrassed over it.’

The result’ Some reports suggesting that bathing together may help bridge the gap between them. [by sweet_kisses]
