HK musics industry third report card TVBs Jade Solid Gold Music Awards was yesterday held at Hong Kong Coliseum. As simulated in an earlier report, Eason Chan indeed beat Leo Ku for the Favourite Male Singer Award and Joey Yung claiming the Best Female Singer Award for four consecutive years. Andy Lau and Kelly Chen received the Asias Favourite Male, Female Award while Leo Ku was awarded with the Gold Song Award for his song Love Too Late (愛得太遲). Despite not winning any awards, Miriam Yeung happily sat among the singers, showing great sportsmanship.
Recently troubled with an outfit copying issue, Joey Yung was teary while receiving her fourth Favourite Female Singer Award, I will continue to try my hardest to sing well. I am sorry for making my fans and friends worry about me. Sorry, I will continue to do well. She then hugged female singers who were on stage, including rumoured friend and foe, Denise Ho and Miriam Yeung. Joey, who did not look at Eric Tsang once, happily hugged him when she won the award.
Eason Chan, who lost last years Favourite Male Award to Hacken Lee, was said to have annoyed TVB with his indiscreet remarks. But hardworking singers must be awarded. During his thanking speech, Eason happily announced that awards were a sort of encouragement for not only the singer, but also for the supportive background workers.
Leo Ku, who lost the Favourite Male Award, received the Gold Music Award for his song 愛得太遲 but he is still in lead with 16.5 for the Four Stages Joint Media Award. Next in line are Andy Lau, Joey Yung and Eason Chan, all with 14 points. [by dee-lush]
