After a long break, Sammi is ready for her assault on the entertainment scene again. Even though it has been rumoured that her place at East Asia as the Number 1 sister has been under threat by Miriam Yeung, because Miriam is always willing to accomodate the boss and Sammi frequently rejects jobs from her boss, it seems Sammi now has reconsidered her position and will mount assaults on both the music and movie industry in 2007. She is slated to appear in a concert in Vancouver in the middle of 2007 called [The Same Song], and appears not to be afraid of the challenge posed by Miriam who is also to appear in the same event.
According to sources, Beijing’s official CCTV station’s [The Same Song] concert is not only a popular show in the Mainland, and is now extending it’s reach to overseas countries as well, so this annual overseas gala event will usually include a very strong cast. This year, CCTV invited both Sammi and Miriam to Vancouver to participate in the show alhtough the organizers were sceptical over whether Sammi would agree, given her asthma and health problems, and also because of her tendency to withdraw at the last minute. The organizers studied the situation and realized that many fans were looking forward to a Sammi-Miriam stage performance, and while the organizers were not optmistic about Sammi accepting the invitation, the organizers received Sammi’s acceptance after Miriam confirmed her attendance. The organizers expressed their delight at the attendance by 2 major stars, and it is believed that Sammi has not asked for any special treatment, such as singing the last song.
Someone close to Sammi told reporters that Sammi had regained confidence in herself and while she had initially decided not to have any more concerts, she changed her mind recently and will now have a concert in June, filming a movie at the same time.
Sammi’s first event of the year will be this Sunday’s charity function by Art in Hospital at Happy Valley. She has expressed her wish for public support of the event and also hopes to be part of a world record attempt to build a jigsaw puzzle. [by Se7en_2nite]
