Sammi attended a press conference yesterday for the 32nd Hong Kong International Film Festival in which she is the spokesperson. The event starts from 17 March to 6th April. Sammi revealed that she loves to watch drama genre movies as well as Stephen Chow’s movies.
Sammi attended the press conference with director Ann Hui and said that they had a chat and discovered that both have intention to work together. Sammi said that she love Ann’s movies especially movies about women of different age. Sammi hopes to try new things in her movie career. When asked if she is willing to shoot another movie like Everlasting Regret, she said yes however not a movie during that period since the hairstyle alone take a few hours. She said that her latest movie 《查之女》 is more relaxing and not as stressful.
Sammi who usually portrays an OL character hopes to play a baddie or a “happy go lucky & crazy” character like Sandra Ng. When asked if she will play a bad girl, she said that requires a good body figure and she does not have it!
When asked who is the actor that she wishes to work with, she said Tony Leung (to the surprise of reporters since they were thinking she will say Andy Lau). She said they have actually worked together in a comedy but has yet to be in a more serious movie together. Reporters asked if it is because after watching 《Lust Caution》 that she wanted to work with him, Sammi joked that she may have “similarities” with Tang Wei (Lust Caution’s main actress) but to be in such a movie, there need to be very close communication with the actor. However, it is very slim for her to be in such a movie and she don’t think any director will take the risk!
After her recent trip to Laos, Sammi visited Japan and later, she will be visiting America and New Zealand to continue her world tour concert. When asked if she is tired from all the travelling, Sammi said that she enjoys long flight. Reporters asked if it is because she wants to “marry a rich man” (as per her character in the movie), she laughed that she have yet to meet anyone therefore she will take more flights.
