China’s broadcasting and film authority has denied it is limiting the appearance of Hong Kong and Taiwan hosts on mainland TV shows.

Previous media reports quoted sources from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) as saying neither Hong Kong nor Taiwan hosts can host more than three episodes in a row on mainland TV.

However, the Oriental Morning Post reports most TV stations have not received or do not know about such a limitation.

Li Bin, an SARFT official in charge of Hong Kong and Taiwan hosts working on the mainland, says the administration has never come up with such a limitation and that TV stations can invite Hong Kong and Taiwan hosts out of their own needs. [by stephanieshieh]
