If the Showbiz were to have a poll for “all around artists”, Show Luo must be in top three. Singing, Acting, Hosting, Dancing, he’s good at all. You just have to admire his skills. “Nowadays it’s hard to sell albums, so just singing won’t work; it’s hard to get jobs in the acting industry, so just acting won’t work; it depends on the ratings if you are a host, maybe the next day you’ll be jobless. I work for everything, and my experience builds. I’m not afraid of not being able to work, I’ll just stay at home then.”
Don’t remember how many times I’ve interviewed Show, every time is fun. You don’t need to worry that you’ll be before, because he’ll be energetic and tell you lots of great jokes, causing a relax atmosphere. You don’t need to worry that there’s nothing to talk about, because he will always find topics to talk with you, and sometimes will stand up suddenly to shake your hand. “You really understand me, thank you” When the interview ended, the photographer wanted to take pictures of him and told him to show the other side of his face. He says, “I have pimples on the left side, so can you just take pictures of my right side’” Everyone laughed.
I’m Not A Genius, I’m Just Hardworking
The one who was teased to be fat in school, has a position in the Showbiz. Somebody said that Show’s a entertainment genius, knowing the path to survive in the Showbiz, and to hold onto every chance, however, he shakes his head, “No, I’m not a genius, I just have a little luck, but the main thing is because I’m hardworking.”
Working in the industry for 13 years, he had his worst times. About five yeras about, for three months, Show didn’t have any jobs. The emptiness made him uncomfortable. At first he just stayed home and slept and thought that he should enjoy it. However, after a week, he didn’t like it, plus he was in danger of losing his job, he explained that he was about to go nuts. At night he would turn on his music extra loud and dance to let it out. In the end, his parents realized that something’s wrong and told him to go on a vacation. After three months of traveling, he had lots of jobs when he returned to Taiwan. This made him happy and walked out of his lowest points. He changed his image and worked all around.
So, when he was at “Keep Going! Good Boys” and saw guys with hopes, he didn’t say anything like “keep going and try your best”, instead he said, “This industry looks glorious, but you must be able to handle loneliness and stress. If not, you should quit now.” It’s rare to see him so serious, but he spoke his thoughts for the 13 years he spent and they came from his heart, “Many young ones wanted to become famous when they first entered the industry. One step at a time will not hurt you even if you fall, and can continue to climb up. If you want to skip steps, then you will fail badly when you fall.”
Being An Artist, You Are Not A Normal Being
Energetic, funny, self obsessed, exaggerated. Show’s fame was stamped with “Made in Taiwan”. To retrieve high ratings, he often showed his skills that caused discussions. He thought that the “sacrifices” were worth it: “Being an artist is to be different from normal human beings; as long as you try different things, they will leave impressions in audience’s hearts. I always try new things because I want to keep a fresh image and changes to others, then you will not be forgotten and kicked out.”
Even though he likes to joke around, he definitely knows his bottom line. When he needs to work hard, he will, and will not touch any of the bad habits. At the end of last year until now, the cases of Taiwanese artists taking drugs is rolling like a snowball and Show was involved for a while. Mentioning about this again, he didn’t avoid the topic, yet he simply replied, “I’m a neat freak, and I’m scared of death, so I definitely won’t touch drugs. My family and friends all trust me.”
He doesnt mind speaking of his privacy. “In a week, I change my cover and bed sheets two times; my house needs cleaning; my clothes are specially washed. There can’t be a piece of hair on the floor of my room; I never use hotel towels so I bring my own. ” He suddenly takes out his package of anti-bacteria wipes, “Oh yeah, I bring this with me always. Most of the bacterias are on hands.” The reporter became silent, not knowing what to say.
Doesn’t Mind Having Rumors
June 9th, Show will be having his concert at Shanghai. He says it’s the best gift to all his fans. In the past few days, he’s been training himself and practicing his dances, hoping to see his audience showing his best side. Before everyone was discussing about the guests, finally now we know. “It’s Twins. Nobody guessed it huh, hoho, this will be fresh.”
Originally, the guest was Xiao S, but since she’s pregnant, she cant attend. This made Show nervous for a while: ” I invited Jolin, Dai S, but their schedules are full already. Then I asked Twins, and they had time.” Before, he was one of Twins’ guest for their concert, “Everyone knows that I’m close with Jolin, Dai&Xiao S, but actually, I’m good friends with Twins too. When I went to HK, they would treat me dinner, and I would shop with them”
