Hong Kong actress and singer Karen Mok said on Sunday that the Olympic torch is the best gift for her birthday, which falls on Monday.
Mok ran the day’s Olympic torch relay on the Three Gorges Dam in central China’s Hubei Province. She was the day’s No. 159 torchbearer.
“Tomorrow is my birthday. The Olympic torch is the most wonderful gift I’ve received,” Mok said.
Mok said it is the greatest honor in her life to pass on the Olympic torch.
“I hope people all over the world will be safe, happy and sincerely hope Beijing Olympic Games will be the most splendid one!” she added.
At the top of the gigantic Three Gorges Dam, the largest of its kind in the world, Mok ran and waved to the spectators.
“It’s more exciting than performing in concerts!” she said with a big smile.
“I wish everyone can share this Olympic honor with me and support Beijing Olympic Games!” she said.

She said Olympic game is the biggest sport event in the whole world. This year is held in Beijing . She had attended the 100 days count down in Beijing and the opening ceremony of the “Three Asia City” . Standing at the top of the gigantic Three Gorges Dam, the largest of its kind in the world, Karen ran and waved to the spectators.
Yesterday, there were events to raise fund for the earthquake. Karen said ” By holding the Olympic torch, I send my love to the world, in particular to the victims and the people affected by it. In fact after the earthquake, I had supported the fund raising events in many ways, such as encourage fellow artists to donate money. I fell deeply hurt for the victims, I have also contacted a few charity organizations immediately after the earthquake . There are lots of work to be done ahead of us and I will continue to remind people about it. Let us help them to rebuild their homeland.
