The ratings of SBS’s historical drama “The King and I” lately has been standing still at the 13-14% range. However, after the female lead’s character, the Queen (played by Goo Hye Sun), was murdered, the drama starts to reach a new climax and attracts countless more television viewers.
At first, the producers had planned for this this drama to be 70 episodes long. But due to its less-than-ideal’s rating, SBS station have decided to end the drama at 61 episodes. After the Queen’s death in episode 52, viewers are looking forward to seeing the young prince’s future more than ever. Some viewers even sent letters to SBS station requesting for an extension of the drama by a few more episodes.
They wrote, “I actually had lost my interest in watching this drama, but unexpectedly, its current plot is very exciting and fast-paced like the beginning episodes. The story line is becoming more and more interesting. I hope that ‘The King and I’ would be extended by a few more episodes, and the drama should not ends in an absurd fashion either.”
The plot of the last 10 episodes is about the little prince’s quest to revenge for his mother, after the Queen had been murdered by poison.[by KST_CICHLID]
