Popular TV personality Ai Iijima, 34, has confirmed rumors that she will retire from show business at the end of March. Iijima, a former porn star, made the announcement during her regular TBS “Sunday Japon” program. Asked by host Bakusho Mondai if the tabloid rumors of her possible retirement were true, she said: “Yes, I have been wanting to quit for some time. I will announce my future plans next week.” She also dropped hints on her blog and that she was through with showbiz.
Iijima asked other panel members on the program if they had ever thought about retiring. Although she seemed adamant, Iijima refused to give any reason for her decision. She has reportedly been suffering health problems in recent months.[by ttenovy]
