During the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games 100-day countdown, the Officials has announced 30 songs that are nominated including that of Jay Chou’s, Lee Hom’s, Emil Chou’s works. Jay Chou’s 「千山萬水」is selected as one of the Best Olympic Songs. It was reported that Jay’s solo performance was outstanding.
Over 100 Hong Kong, Taiwan and China artistes gathered at the Forbidden City Imperial Temple, Beijing, sang the Olympic Theme Song “Welcome Beijing” in unison. Amongst the artistes who sang were Lin Zhi Ling, Jackie Chan, Emil Chou, Jolin Chai, Stephanie Sun, FIR, and others.
2008 Beijing Olympics is less than 100 days counting down, although the Officials has announced the 30 nominated songs, the final decision as to who will sing the Theme Song has yet to be determined. Hence, the Central Committee Television conducts an online poll activity via CCTV portal to determine who sings the Olympic Theme Song. From the current poll results, Jay Chou is at present leading the poll at 2nd place. Currently leading the poll is Faye Wong.
