Chinese director Zhang Yimou attended a press conference for his latest blockbuster “Curse of the Golden Flower” in Seoul on Thursday. The director said that he has watched most of the South Korean movies introduced in China and expressed his intention to cooperate with South Korean filmmakers and actors. Zhang added South Korea shares much in common with China and the two are obliged to protect their traditional cultures and movies against Hollywood movies. Starring Chow Yun-fat and Gong Li, the movie “Curse of the Golden Flower” is about conspiracy and betrayal at the palace in China’s late Tang Dynasty. [by stephanieshieh]
