Corden to write ice cream gags?

August 19th, 2008 Posted in World Showbiz News

James Corden is in talks to write jokes for an ice cream company’s lolly sticks.

The Gavin and Stacey star was asked by Wall’s Ice Cream to write a series of short gags that will appear on a limited edition of the brand’s ice creams and ice lollies.

A spokesman for the company said: “We instantly thought that James would be the perfect person to create a series of jokes for all our limited edition lolly sticks that would appeal to the whole family.

“He’s unique and has a fantastic sense of humour so we really believe that his jokes will have the nation roaring with laughter this summer.”

Corden, who plays Smithy in the hit comedy, also co-writes the show with Ruth Jones who plays Nessa.

He picked up Best Male Comedy Newcomer and the programme won Best New British Television Comedy at last year’s Baftas.
