Duchovny in rehab for sex addiction
X-Files star David Duchovny has entered a facility for treatment of sex addiction.
Duchovny, 48, sprang to fame starring as the conspiracy-minded FBI agent Fox Mulder on the paranormal series The X-Files which spawned two big-screen spin-offs.
In January he won a Golden Globe for his role in US TV show Californication, in which he plays an oversexed single dad and novelist struggling with writer’s block.
Duchovny has been married to actress Tea Leoni since 1997. The couple have a nine-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son.
In a statement released through his lawyer Stanton “Larry” Stein, Duchovny said: “I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction.
“I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”
