Gallagher’s broken rib scare
Noel Gallagher has a suspected broken rib and ligament damage after a man assaulted him onstage at the weekend.
The Oasis star was midway through a set at V festival in Toronto, Canada on Sunday when he was violently pushed to the ground by a man who stormed the stage.
Gallagher fell heavily onto the monitor speakers at his feet - and despite resuming the gig, he was later taken to hospital for treatment.
In a statement, the band commented: “Despite his injuries Noel returned to the stage a few minutes later to complete the band’s set, but was taken to hospital after the show to be examined for a suspected fractured rib and ligament damage. The assailant was detained in police custody.”
Daniel Sullivan, 47, has been charged with assault over the incident, say police in Toronto.
The band is next due to play in London, Ontario, on Tuesday, but as WENN goes to press, it is not known whether the gig will be going ahead.
