Hong Kong singer-actress Gillian Chung’s scenes in a comedy that parodies John Woo’s “Red Cliff” have reportedly been removed after fellow actor Alex Fong revealed the star’s guest appearance to the press, said Ming Pao Daily News.
When asked to confirm the news on Tuesday, Fong was reluctant to comment, saying, “Don’t talk about it. Wait until the production company provides an explanation. Actually this movie is filled with stars, there are more than 60 artistes who will be making a guest appearance. I am one of them.”
He added, “It has not been decided how much screen time Gillian will have, so it is not convenient for me to say anything now.”
Chung, one half of Canto-pop duo Twins, was supposed to appear in a cameo role as Sun Shangxiang, played by Vicki Zhao in the original movies.
Directed by Jeffrey Lau, stars like Eric Tsang, Athena Chu and Ronald Cheng have also been cast in the movie.
