German actress Diane Kruger has joined the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s World War Two movie, Inglorious Bastards.

The Troy star will play a glamorous German actress, a role that had been pegged for Roman Polanski’s former flame, Nastassja Kinski. Tarantino had flown to Germany to meet cult-movie actress Kinski, but a deal was never reached.

The flick revolves around a French girl’s revenge on the Nazis and a band of American Nazi killers, with both story lines eventually converging.

Additionally, King Arthur star Til Schweiger has secured a role playing a member of the Nazi killer team, headed by Brad Pitt’s character, Lt Aldo Raine.

Others in the cast include Mike Myers, Christoph Waltz and Eli Roth.

Production starts shooting in October in Germany, and Tarantino hopes to unveil the movie in May at the Cannes Film Festival, scene of the world premiere of his 1994 smash “Pulp Fiction.”
