Late of the Pier reveal what music is

August 18th, 2008 Posted in World Showbiz News

Castle Donnington quartet Late of the Pier have been described as the ‘new MGMT’ by music critics.

They shamlessly target the ‘Skins’ generation according to some and have produced a debut album which sounds ‘odd’.

Fantasy Black Channel combines synths reminiscient of electro produced by late 1970s pioneer Gary Numan.

The band said in a recent interview: “Music is a fog, a brown fog with yellow dots, that sneaks into the ears of the poor and vulnerable.”

They go on jokingly: “Music is an elongated cry for help. Music is Terry Wogan.”

If these descriptions don’t help they have been compared to nu-ravers the Klaxons and 1970s prog rockers - King Crimson.
