Luo Dayou, Zhang Zhenyue, Li Zongshen and Zhou Huajian forms Super Band
Four Taiwan music heavyweights have formed a new group aptly called Super Band.
Veteran singer Zhou Huajian, godfather of Chinese pop Luo Dayou, music producer Li Zongsheng and singer-songwriter Zhang Zhenyue held a news conference in Taipei on Friday to announce the band’s formation.
The idea for the band came during a dinner, said Luo, the 54-year old singer-songwriter.
“The band’s musical style will vary according to our band members’ own specialties,” Li said. “Currently, we are working on light rock, and we may mix some ballads and country music in the future.”
Although Super Band is a new group, its four members are all old hands in making music.
“We are eyeing next year’s Golden Melody Awards,” Li said.
