Sarandon joins all-star cast

Hollywood actress Susan Sarandon will star in comedy-thriller Leaves of Grass directed by film maker Tim Blake Nelson.

Sarandon joins an all-star cast which includes Richard Dreyfuss and Fightclub’s Edward Norton who plays twin brothers, one an Ivy League philosophy professor and the other a small-time marijuana grower.

The professor is lured back to his Oklahoma hometown for a doomed scheme against a local drug lord, played by Dreyfuss.

Sarandon plays the brothers’ eccentric mother. Country singer Steve Earle and Lucy DeVito, daughter of Danny DeVito and Cheers star Rhea Perlman are also in the cast.

Filming is due to start on September 22 in Los Angeles.
