Simmons sued for slander and fraud

September 5th, 2008 Posted in World Showbiz News

Kiss legend Gene Simmons is facing legal action from a former business partner who has accused the rocker of fraud and slander.

A suit was filed on Wednesday against Simmons and two business partners by Allan Brown, who claims the star cut him out of a deal with the Indy Racing League.

Simmons signed a contract with IndyCar racing in 2006 to promote the open-wheel racing series, and even wrote a song entitled I Am Indy.

Brown claims he has a marketing agreement with Simmons and the two partners, but was allegedly left out of the IndyCar deal while on holiday.

He also claims Simmons told Indy Racing bosses he was “lazy” and “rich” and was subsequently dumped from the business dealings.

Brown is seeking unspecified damages.
