The new Tomb Raider heroine Lara Croft video revealed

August 21st, 2008 Posted in World Showbiz News

Alison Carroll, 24 - who was chosen for the role - explains her ‘journey’ into becoming the star in the video.

Carroll, from Croydon south London, was previously a display gymnast and a receptionist

To prepare for the role, she embarked on a gruelling training regime with everyone from choreographers to weapons instructors for much more involved and action- oriented photo shoots - in skimpy outfits with Croft’s trademark guns.

She will spend the next year as the blockbuster video game’s international ’spokesmodel’ starring in advertising campaigns and travelling around the globe for gaming conventions.

Lara Croft has gone through several ‘in the flesh’ incarnations over the years - most notably Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie who played the video game heroine in two Tomb Raider movies.

Tomb Raider: Underworld is due for release in November.
