Tony Leung Ka Fai: “A Chinese Fairy Tale” so inspiring
The movie, based on a true story, tells of an eight-year-old girl named Zhu Xinyue who is diagnosed with cancer and loses her eyesight. She realizes her dream of watching the flag-raising ceremony at Beijing’s Tian’anmen square with the help of over two thousand fellow citizens in her hometown, Changchun.
Leung(梁家輝) said he did not care about the pay for the film because he found the story so inspiring.
The little girl in the film reminds Leung of his brother, who died of bone cancer at the age of nine, Leung said.
“There are so many people who believe that we have to achieve something to be happy, but actually, we should be happy every morning when we wake up healthy,” Leung said.
The movie will hit the silver screen nationwide on August 26.
